About Lisias

Lisias Abreu is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of management experience in the Renewable Energy sector.

His career trajectory includes international leadership roles such as Vice President and Managing Director at Fortune 500 companies and large multinationals, where he provided strategic direction to large functional areas and cross-functional teams.

Lisias Abreu has an MBA in General Management from FGV in São Paulo, Brazil and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Tech in Chicago, where he researched and thought courses related to clean energy, transmission planning, and electricity markets.

Lisias is currently a senior leader at Ørsted, the global leader in offshore wind. As Head of Grid Integration Management, he is charge of transmission strategy, development, engineering, and construction for all offshore wind farms in the Region Americas.

As of 2024, he’s ensured delivery of the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the United States, generating 132 megawatts of clean energy to power more than 70,000 homes. He’s also led execution of large generation interconnection agreements for two other offshore wind farms along the East Coast, where with over 2 gigawatts combined these projects could power more than 1 million homes with clean energy.
